Alabama Attorney General Troy King found himself in the midst of a gay sex scandal last week after reports began to circulate that he was busted having sex with a male assistant by his wife, Paige King, in the couple’s own bed. Now to add fuel to the fire, King, the chairman of John McCain’s Alabama Leadership Team, has been removed from the presumptive Republican presidential nominee's website.

American Idol’s 'Velvet Teddy Bear' Ruben Studdard tied the knot over the weekend, marrying fiancée Surata Zuri McCants. The Associated Press reported the ceremony was just a simple exchanging of vows; no singing, just a simple string ensemble. A reporter from a local Birmingham paper attended the ceremony.

Lesbian Candidate's Race is Bigger Issue Than Sexuality During Election

When openly gay Patricia Todd ran for a legislative seat representing a majority black district in Alabama, she expected her sexual orientation to be an issue.
She didn’t expect, however, was that the fact that she’s white would be an even bigger issue.
According to the Associated Press, Todd, who defeated a black candidate in a runoff election last month, goes before a Democratic Party subcommittee on Tuesday to defend her 59-vote runoff win in House District 54, an area that includes both the richest and poorest neighborhoods of Birmingham.

The lesbian mother of a 12-year-old girl has taken objection to a sex education pamphlet an Alabama middle school is handing out to students, describing homosexuality as an illegitimate lifestyle choice. "The Top 10 Questions Teenagers Ask about Sex" was being distributed for the second year at the school as part of a three-day sex-education and abstinence guidance program at Honeysuckle Middle School.

Alabama Conservatives Push for Gay Adoption Ban

A proposal is on the table in the Alabama legislature that would ban gays and lesbians from adopting children just month’s after the state because one of the first in the nation to put the Marriage Protection Act on the fast track to a vote. The bill is sponsored by Republican Sen. Hank Erwin Jr. and would make it illegal for a person who is gay to adopt a minor.

Gay Sex Toys Banned In Alabama
A federal appeals court has upheld a 1998 Alabama law banning the sale of sex toys in the state, ruling the Constitution doesn't include a right to sexual privacy. The case was brought by the owner of a store that had been charged with selling the toys and was argued by the American Civil Liberties Union.
